Welcome to Compassion Church!
We know visiting a new church can feel a little overwhelming, so we want to make it simple.
When you join us on a Sunday at 10:00 AM, you can expect a relaxed, come-as-you-are atmosphere, meaningful worship, and teaching that connects the Bible to everyday life. There’s coffee waiting when you arrive, friendly faces to help you find your way, and a safe, fun space for kids from infants through 5th grade to learn and grow. Youth and adults worship together, and you’ll see people of all ages serving, connecting, and sharing life. Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years or are just curious about faith, you belong here—and we’d love to get to know you.  Wondering what else to expect? We’ve got a quick FAQ below.

What to Expect
At Compassion Church, we want you to feel at home from the moment you walk in. Whether it’s your first time in church or your first time in a while, you’ll find a friendly, relaxed space to explore faith, ask questions, and connect with others.

We are located in South Point Mall in St. Johns, MI.  Our official address is 1023 US 27, St. Johns, MI.  BUT,  if you put us in your map app, you might get close but not quite to us.

So here's what you should look for.

  • South Point is on US 27 across from McDonald's, Burger King, and Taco Bell.
  • Once you pull into the mall, keep going straight (CCMC is on the left, Clinton County RESA is on the right).
  • We are smack dab in the middle, just down from  St. Vincent's and Jade World Buffet.

We start at 10:00 AM, and getting here 10–15 minutes early means you can check in kids (if you have them and didn't lose them on the way), grab a coffee, and snag that perfect seat. But if mornings don’t go as planned (we get it!), come anyway. Or if you prefer your first few times to sneak in, well ... we get that too. Either way, you’re welcome here.

Whatever you want! We mean it.  Most of us dress casual—jeans, leggings, sweatshirts—but some like to dress up. Wear what makes you comfortable. We care far more about who you are and getting to know you than what you’re wearing.

Our services last about an hour and include live music from our volunteer team and a Scripture-based message. We make space—through music, prayer, or creative moments—for you to pause and reflect in your own way. Come a little early or stay after to connect with others.

All kids are welcome!  Kids are an important part of our church family, and we can’t wait to meet yours.

In our Compassion Kids space, children begin their faith journey with a sense of wonder—discovering who Jesus is, who they are, how to love others, and how to live like Jesus at home, school, and everywhere in between. Each week includes fun games, worship music, interactive lessons, and caring adults.

Our Littles (Nursery–Preschool) are welcomed from the start of service until the end, using the Bible App for Kids. Our Middles (Elementary) enjoy Wonder Ink curriculum and are also encouraged—especially our older kids—to join the larger gathering for worship before heading to their space.

We love our teens! While we don’t currently have a separate weekly youth group, our students are a vital part of our church family. Here, they are known, involved, and developed—joining us in worship, serving on volunteer teams, and growing as leaders and followers of Jesus. We also encourage them to connect with larger youth events and retreats hosted by other churches in our area so they can build friendships with other Christ-followers their age.

We believe life is better when it’s shared, and there’s a place for you here at Compassion Church! From September through May, we offer groups where you can grow in faith, build friendships, and walk through life together.

We also encourage hanging out outside of Sundays—sharing meals, having fun, and being part of each other’s lives. And whether it’s serving on a team at church or volunteering in our community, there are plenty of ways to make a difference alongside others.

Whether you’re brand new or have been around a while, we’d love to help you find your place to connect, grow, and serve.

We keep it simple—stop by our info table in the lobby or just ask anyone you see (including our pastor!). We’re small enough that you’ll always find someone happy to help, answer your questions, or point you in the right direction.

We'd love to connect.
